AllianceBlock is inviting the #NoMercy community to begin their identity verification on AllianceBlock TIDV and test the Fundrs integration

Recently, the DUA Token has officially been listed on Fundrs and hosted an AMA with AllianceBlock Co-Founder and CTO Matthijs de Vries on Telegram. Today we’re soft launching AllianceBlock TIDV, testing the Fundrs integration, and giving the community an early chance to undergo the KYC process in preparation for DUA Token’s first capital-raising round by the end of November.

For Fundrs stakers, we are also offering a $10 ALBT reward for the first 100 users to undergo the identity verification process on TIDV. Read on to find out how to go through KYC on TIDV. You can visit the TIDV application website here.

Things to Prepare

There are a couple of things users need to note before verifying their identity on TIDV:

  • Users can perform KYC verification only on the desktop. Capturing identity documents and liveliness checks are done through mobile, but users must start the process from the desktop. Multiple steps in the process require encryption in the browser, which desktop browsers only support.
  • Users must have ALBT and network-native tokens to go through the process. For the soft launch, we advise users to do their KYC on the Avalanche Mainnet network, meaning they must have wrapped ALBT (wALBT) and AVAX balances in their wallets.
  • Only passports and identification cards from the country where the user is a citizen are accepted for identity documents. No document upload option is available, so users must have these on hand for the KYC process.

Users can quickly add the Avalanche Mainnet network to their wallets by using Chainlist. Metamask users can add the network in the browser extension settings. Users can also check out Avalanche’s official documentation on adding the network here.

Users can quickly add Avalanche to their wallet on chainlist.org. Metamask users can add it through the browser extension settings as well.

Users can add wrapped ALBT to their wallets with this token address: 0x9E037dE681CaFA6E661e6108eD9c2bd1AA567Ecd. Users need to pay $0.80 worth of ALBT each time they undergo the KYC process.

Please note that hardware wallets are currently not supported for the soft launch and the Fundrs integration testing.

Undergoing KYC in TIDV

To undergo KYC in TIDV, there are six key steps:

  1. Connecting Wallet to TIDV
  2. Generating Encryption Key Pairs
  3. KYC Verification Process
  4. Providing Identification Documents and Liveliness Check
  5. Verifying Information and Amending Personal Details
  6. Submitting Verification, Downloading KYC Information, and the KYC Dashboard

Step 1 — Connecting Wallet to TIDV

Visit the TIDV website at https://www.id.allianceblock.io to start the identity verification process. Please note that users can only undergo this process on desktop browsers. For the soft launch, a mobile browser is used to facilitate document capture and liveliness checks. However, users must initiate the process on a desktop browser. Multiple steps in the process require encryption in the browser, which desktop browsers only support.

We strongly encourage users to verify their identity using the Avalanche network for the soft launch. Make sure to have wALBT and AVAX balances in your wallet for a seamless process.

Step 2 — Generating Encryption Key Pairs

Users who have connected to TIDV for the first time will be asked to generate an encryption key pair that will be used to protect their KYC data locally. The TIDV website and platform only store users’ KYC data on the browser’s local storage and are not transferred over the internet. GBG processes the information for KYC verification but never keeps it on their servers.

After this initial process, every time users connect to TIDV, they will be asked to decrypt that key pair using their wallet, to access or update their locally-stored KYC information, if necessary.

The user’s wallet will pop up several times to request the wallet’s encryption public key and then a decryption and signature request.

Step 3 —KYC Verification Process

The “Overview” page lets users initiate the KYC process or restore their previously-saved KYC information via an exported file. Please read through the overview and guidelines presented on this page.

The “Start” page presents an overview of the KYC process, including important information on how we handle user data, what gets sent to GBG, and the associated fees.

Key information to remember:

  • wALBT and network-native tokens are required to pay for the KYC process and associated gas fees. Users must have at least US$ 0.80 worth of ALBT in their wallets.
  • GBG, our official KYC partner and provider, will process and authenticate the information submitted on the TIDV website.
  • GBG only reviews users’ information to verify its authenticity and will never store any information or documentation on its servers.

To continue with the KYC process, users will receive a prompt from their wallets for a signature request, permission to access wALBT in their wallets, and for gas fee payments for the process.

There are three separate wallet prompts as part of the process. Make sure to review each prompt and verify the transaction information before proceeding.

Step 4 — Providing Identification Documents and Liveliness Check

The “Upload ID” page is where users can submit their identity documents and perform liveliness checks as part of the KYC process. In this step, users can continue the process on their mobile phones to capture their ID documents and take a selfie.

Clicking on “Continue on Mobile” will show users a QR code to scan on their mobile phones and continue the process.

Users can submit identification documents and take selfies for liveliness checks on their mobile phones. Document upload is not supported for the soft launch.

For identity documents, users can only use passports or official ID cards from the country where they are a citizen. To proceed, tap on the “Autocapture” on mobile and position the identification document within the frame.

For best results, please ensure that the document is in clear focus and has good lighting with minimal flare. The document must have all four corners shown and all important information unobstructed. If the document capture is not successful on the first try, please readjust the positioning of the document in the frame, and try again.

After the identity document has been successfully processed, users will have to go through a liveliness check to verify that they are the user. This is done through a selfie with an unobstructed view of their faces. Users are advised to remove their eyeglasses when taking a selfie for better results. Again note that lighting and focus are essential: if users don’t have clear lighting, then the selfie image will need to be retaken.

Please ensure that your mobile browser has the proper permissions to access your back and front cameras for the document capture and the liveliness check. Successfully capturing the document and taking the selfie will lead to the summary and verification page, showing an overview of the captured information.

Users will be directed to a summary screen of all information processed from the identification document provided. Once this shows up on mobile, the TIDV website on the desktop will reflect the same information presented on mobile.

Users can amend the information captured in the next step.

This screen reflects the same information presented on mobile after successfully capturing the identity document and selfie for the liveliness check.

Step 5 — Verifying Information and Amending Personal Details

On the “Personal Details” page, users can verify and amend the information processed in the previous step. Users must go through all the fields and check if the correct information has been captured, such as their first, middle and last names, etc. The input fields will have a red outline if there are errors or pending verification.

Users must review all of the information captured from their uploaded identification document. Errors in entries, spelling, etc., will mean restarting the KYC process again, which costs additional fees.

In the next screen, users can optionally fill out their address information. While this is optional, the “Country of residence” is important to update. Users can select a country of residence other than their nationality as provided in the identity document they have submitted in the previous step.

Please ensure that the country of residence reflects where you currently reside.

To proceed, users can click on “Next,” and receive a prompt from their wallet to sign the information they’ve submitted.

The amendments and edits to the captured information are recorded on the blockchain by signing these amendments.

Step 6 — Submitting Verification, Downloading KYC Information, and KYC Dashboard

On the “Verification” page, users must send their encrypted KYC information to GBG for verification. Once GBG verifies the KYC information, they will send back an encrypted summary of the report, signatures for the original document and attachments, and an “ID pack” for Saltpack/Nucypher.

Please note that AllianceBlock cannot access encrypted KYC data, and encrypted and verified KYC information is only stored on the user’s browser. When sending KYC information to Fundrs Seeker startups, this information remains encrypted and can only be decrypted by the requesting application.

After user amendments in the previous step, users must send their KYC information again to GBG for final review and authentication.

On the “Summary” page, users can back up their encrypted KYC information. Since information is only stored in the user’s browser, when the browser’s cache is cleared or when logging in using a different browser, they won’t have access to their KYC information. To back up the encrypted verified KYC information, users can download their encrypted ID summaries, which they can import again into TIDV in the future.

Users can download their KYC information on the “Summary Page”. Please store this in a secure location for future reference.

On the “Dashboard” page, users can inspect the results of the ID scan from their uploaded document and the amendments they have made before submitting their KYC for verification to GBG.

That’s it — after this process, users can freely use the same KYC verification for multiple projects and applications. Users are advised to download their encrypted KYC information and store it in a secure location to restore their KYC status in the future easily.

Please note that users will have to pay the KYC fee again if they lose their KYC information due to a browser cache clearing or restarting the KYC process.

Requesting Access to a Fundrs Project

On the “Request Access” page, users can send their encrypted and verified KYC information to a project listed on the TIDV platform. With the TIDV integration in Fundrs, Seeker startups listed on Fundrs will show up on this page to allow users to submit their KYC information easily. This means that with one KYC verification, users can reuse their information multiple times on different listings in Fundrs and other integrated apps in the future.

As part of the soft launch, we are testing the TIDV integration of Fundrs with a sample project called “We Keep Building.”

In the soft launch, users can see multiple sample projects. To test the integration of TIDV into Fundrs, users can request access to the “We Keep Building” project.

Users can click on “Request Access” for the “We Keep Building” project to test sending out their KYC information to the project. The next screen will show a list of Encryption Solutions that users can choose from in submitting their information. TIDV supports Saltpack and Nucypher as encryption solutions. In this test, users can select Saltpack to proceed.

Once users click on “Next,” they will receive a prompt from their wallets to sign the transaction of sending the KYC results to the project and pay for the gas fees. Again, AllianceBlock has no access to the encrypted and verified KYC information that users send to projects, and their information is encrypted when sent to the project.

There will be three prompts from the user’s wallets to sign the transaction, encrypt the KYC information, and pay the gas fees.

Once the transactions are signed and approved, users can see the status of their submission on the page.

Community Bonus

The first 100 users to verify their KYC and participate in the community testing for the Fundrs integration will receive US$10 worth of ALBT!

Please follow all the steps described in this article and request access to the “We Keep Building” project to participate.

The testing period runs 24 hours from 6:40PM CET today, the 7th of November, until tomorrow.

Note that only currently-staked Fundrs users are eligible for this bonus.
