Bringing the Onramper Widget to Life in the AllianceBlock Ecosystem
AllianceBlocks recent partnership with Onramper will provide an intuitive and seamless user experience for fiat to crypto onramping into our DeFi solutions.
We previously announced our partnership with Onramper now we’re bringing this to life through AllianceBlock’s products, enabling users too easily and seamlessly access on and off ramp for fiat to cryptocurrency. This is a step forward in enabling easier participation in DeFi and aligns with our mission to build seamless gateways into the industry.
AllianceBlock is continuously trying to improve the user journey and aim for a smooth user experience and simple usability. Superior UI and UX is a core focus at AllianceBlock, this integration is one of many extensive changes we are implementing across our websites. Its purpose is to facilitate a seamless experience for our solutions which are aimed at reducing the friction to engage, build, and grow the use of our end-to-end infrastructure for builders and community members.
This widget will provide a solution to onboarding users easily into our platform. We chose Onramper because it provides users with multiple benefits in a simple interface. Through this integration into our platforms and websites, users have access to over 200 tokens without dealing with CEX’s and DEX’s, users can trade fiat via 23 different payment methods, multiple onramp solutions are compatible (such as Moonpay, Wyre etc.) and supports 180+ countries and over 90 currencies.
Users will be able to utilize this on and off ramp immediately, on defiterm.io, Fundrs, the AllianceBlock DeFi Terminal and our customer portals.
What can users do today: Use Onramper as a simple on and off ramp for fiat to crypto. Once purchased users can swap the currency within the swap functionality. For now this is only available on MetaMask and over 16 blockchains but soon other major wallets and blockchains will be added.
Let’s look at how users can utilise this functionality
We’ll walk through the steps you could take to utilise the Onramper widget on AllianceBlocks websites or platform. On each platform or website, the Onramper widget is included; there will be a “Get Tokens” button at the main navigation bar besides the wallet.
First step — get tokens
Click “Get Tokens” and then use the fiat to crypto on ramp to obtain, in this example some ETH
- Select the currency you are using, the default will be dependent on your location. If you want to choose a different currency, you can search this.
- Specify your fiat amount.
- Select the token you would like to exchange to, more options will be available when you swap.
Second step — exchange fiat
Choose the amount of fiat you would like to onramp, select the payment method and which third party provider (cheapest is selected by default) you would like to choose.
- Once you have selected the amount of fiat you would like to onramp, you need to specify your preferred payment method.
- Select your onramp solution, by default the cheapest solution is highlighted.
- You will see the token amount based on the local currency.
- Decide which onramp solution to use and press “Choose Onramp”
- The widget will then take you to the transaction page where you can see the possible exchange amounts
- Note the payment method you have chosen.
- Double check that the details are correct and continue.
- Once users have completed their KYC, they will be able to see a detailed overview of the fees they can expect for this type of transaction.
Third step — receive tokens
Users will receive an update with specifics about when to expect their tokens. For their first transaction it may take some time as KYC gets verified. When KYC has been confirmed, the token will appear in your specified wallet address.
Fourth step — optional swap
If the token users want aren’t available i.e. ALBT, for immediate on ramping, then once users have received the purchased tokens (i.e. Fiat to ETH, USDC or USDT) they can immediately swap to ALBT or any other available token using the swap functionality in the widget. This swap functionality is continuing to be developed and not all major tokens are available for swap immediately. If you want to swap tokens follow the steps below;
- Specify the amount you want to exchange and which token
- Specify the token you want to receive (i.e. ALBT)
- Another fee breakdown is shown
- Connect your wallet
- Sign transaction
- Check tokens are received in your wallet
We’re taking an important step forward integrating the Onramper widget into our website and portals, providing seamless functionality and a smooth customer experience. As Onramper continues to add support for more chains and tokens, we’ll continue to expand the widget across more of our interoperable suite of tools. In the partnership blog it was mentioned that Onramper is working on a potential integration with TIDV, making it easier for users to have a single flowing journey and avoid multiple KYC checks.
